My review of these is vs. Pro Taper tiedowns which I've always felt were the best for motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs. These from Swift Grip are better. The machine end has a built in soft loop, and also a retaining clip. This is a great feature. Sometimes I use soft loops around the bars, other times I use the hook into the tiedown loops I added to my forks. In either scenario, the Swift Grip tiedowns work great.
The trailer end has the same style hook and same retaining clip, as does the Pro Taper. Difference is the rubber coating on the Swift Grip.Cam buckle on the Swift Grip is twice the size of the Pro Taper. It's very heavy duty and looks quite confident. I have no concerns it's tough. Overall length, the Swift Grip is a little longer than the Pro Taper. I prefer a little more length in some cases, especially long reach from high mounting points on my UTVs to the floor of the trailer. The Velcro strap on the Swift Grip, to secure the loose end, uses a plastic loop to double back the Velcro strap, where the Pro Taper has no plastic loop, it doubles back on itself. This is a matter of personal preference, both styles work well. The webbing on the Swift Grip is nearly twice as thick vs. the Pro Taper webbing. No doubt, the Swift Grip webbing is thick, heavy duty, and top notch. It's a good fit for the super heavy duty cam buckle. Lastly, these include a case. I didn't think I'd need that, but I love that I can fold these up and put them in a case so the aren't all knotted up when I get them out of my truck box for next time. These are very well thought out and super high quality. Can't wait to tie down the YZs and go to our next event. Highly recommended!
